For the shaped picture disc “Feel The Fire” by Overkill we came up with a never seen before version of their winged skull mascot “Chaly”.

When we got the license from Megaforce Records to produce a shaped picture disc including two songs from the classic Overkill album “Feel The Fire” it was clear that we need to come up with Chaly as the main theme. Chaly is the Overkill mascot (a skeletal bat with a skull-like face, horns, bony wings and green eyes) who has appeared on most of their album covers. We decided to create a completely new and never before seen version of Chaly. We started from scratch and created our own version of Chaly completely in 3D to be able to play around with different settings. For the background setting we decided to go with a burning cemetery. For this, all elements were modeled, textured and illuminated. During the composing process, we added some details and made final color gradings. While finishing the final layouts to use for the actual release we produced several artworks that did not make it to the final version.
